The potential for those with allergies to have a reaction is well known by the health professionals who give the vaccines. In fact, even for those without a history of allergies, they request people to stay on site for at least 15 minutes to ensure there will not be an allergic reaction.

I haven't experienced this myself, but I'm pretttttttyyyyyyyy sure that if someone has an unfortunate reaction to the vaccine, they will not be required to provide their own epipen. That's just ridiculous. Obviously, the medical staff have everything they need (including epipens) for treating an allergic reaction as routine practice at vaccine clinics.

When I give flu shots at work I have a vial of epi on the cart so I'm sure that is true, however I completely understand the fear and hesitation of getting a vaccine if you have severe allergies of any kind.

I agree. It is certainly reasonable to have trepidation in that situation. My daughter has a peanut allergy, and we have an epipen. She WILL be getting the vaccine (she is 18 yo and it is her choice).

How is everyone doing? Still holding out here. Ad soon as we get a notification that we can make an appointment...we go for it..then.. when finished filling out info... appointments are all filled up. 🙄.

Really looking forward to phase 1C when my sister can get the vaccine, and maybe my essential worker partner. It will be such a relief off of my mind.

Case counts have gone way down at his work, incidentally, now that the post-holiday super spreader spike is done. So a couple more isolated friends and I are pondering an outdoor socially distanced gathering of like 3 people. They're down to about 1 new case a week. Throw some apple cider over a hot fire and sit reaaaaally far apart and chat and drink it. Sit closer together with masks around the fire. It'll be cold, but we were born and raised in the cold so that's nothing new. Just a couple of people to keep the risk as low as possible. I haven't seen any friends in person since Yule when I went wassailing and we sang songs and delivered gifts from about 10+ feet away with masks. Case counts at D's work have just been too high to even think about it. Not going to spend time with loved ones, not even masked and socially distanced, when our risk factor for getting COVID is spiking. Just staying home is better.
