If the source of the coughing is the trachea I don't think honey will help. I think this because when they breathe, the air enters their nostrils, passes through the sinus cavity through the choanal slit and into the trachea. Honey will coat the mouth and the esophagus, so unless the duck's esophagus is sore, I don't think honey is needed.
