I'll have to give them away to a nearby farm. I'm sad that I'm loosing the chickens with the big personalities. My four hens are much more timid than the rest of the flock.8,,9,10 are roosters. My girls were timid too....UNTIL we got rid of the roosters. The roos were not happy with me going near his girls so he kept himself between us most of the time. After they left, the girls were much friendlier and seemed happier. One of my hens took on the role of watching and alarming for predators, breaking up squabbles and calling her sisters for food. I think even keeping 1 roo is too much for 4 girls.I'll have to give them away to a nearby farm. I'm sad that I'm loosing the chickens with the big personalities. I am hoping to introduce a couple more hens in the future. I'll let them enjoy a little freedom from the roosters first. My girls were timid too....UNTIL we got rid of the roosters. Those photos of the chickens you posted above...Trust me, there is NO DOUBT that they are boys. Hens do not ever look like that.I am hoping to introduce a couple more hens in the future. I'll let them enjoy a little freedom from the roosters first.
