Ropers hands down. The fit, comfort and usability is hard to beat. Have a pair for work and a dress pair.

I would definitely recommend trying on boots before buying. My boots were a size smaller than I usually wear. After a couple weeks of breaking them in, they are now the most comfortable shoes I own! Leather is like skin. It stretches with use!

There's no way I could get boots without trying them on first, and in the past bazillion

years I've never been able to wear ropers, they kill my feet.

I only wear boots an the ones with classic smooth soles are neck breakers. You will rip those metal tips off rather quick. So if you are actually planning to wear them the ropers look pretty good for the price range.
