Does anyone knnow if air temp. affects candy making? We made some cany on Wed. and none of it turned out right, it's still edible but not how it should be. It was about 29*, without windchill.

Years ago, when I was on a Divinity making kick, it never turned out right if it was rainy or humid outside so I would say yes, it does make a difference. I think I might make those chicken wire baskets again next year too Monica, need a roll of chicken wire and I will make them as big as the one I use for potatoes and onions, maybe cut a cardboard circle to put inside the bottome for support and fill with canned goods. Def. making those fleece throws too..those are top on my list!!​

LOL!!! Thank you!! The soap ones are only the glycerin handmade sopas and crocheted washcloths. The others have canned grape hull preserves, muscadine jam, pear preserves, salsa, apple butter and home made kahlua and blueberry vodka..I made some pumpkin spice breads, toasted pecans and beef jerky too so all of that is in the canned baskets. A cork wreath (ebay corks!) and a christmas spider in each one too, that's all

I will post my pics later today when we get done with everything. DGD is sewing on the placemats right now. I am getting ready to go start the dog crackers. DGS is in the tub. DH FINALLY was able to go to work today(he could get out of the driveway AND the highway was open!). I will have to work around the kids playing in the snow with the dogs though! I LOVE winter!!!

I DID get these done.
Rice bag gifts, each set has a neck cozy, two pocket/hand warmers and a square, with instructions on top.

I need to whip up a simple but pretty stocking for my daughter before Christmas. Hers is so much smaller than everyone else's (sp?) It was the only girlie one we could find at the time, and I didn't realize that it was smaller than everyone elses when we bought it. (Eventually I would like to hand make everyone's stocking.)

Also, do you guys make your own stocking hangars or do you buy them?
