Crafters- What are you making???

The cheapest. No minute rice or anything like that.
You can use whole dried feedcorn as well, not sure how that feels though.

If your like me and took the easy thinking, but actually harder route, and picked out the corn from the feed, It SMELLS HORRIBLE!!
lol well not horrible, just really aromatic in a not so nice on the daughter's schoolbus way...Alyssa came home from school one day, and told me in the not so nice way that all the kids kept sayin.. eww what's that smell? lol
I had made her a handwarmer for waitin in the mornings for the bus.

The corn retains the heat longer though. LOL I still have all mine to make yet. Procratinating is not usually my thing at all but I seem to be wrapped up in it right now.

Thanks all for your prayers. My surgery went great. Went in at 6 am and was on the way home before 11 am. Hurts but in a good way.

Everything looks great.

I feel like a real lamebrain here, but if you don't ask, you don't learn....

What are these things filled with rice? What/how does one do what with them? I understand they they are for warming, but how?

Thanks in advance and pardon my ignorance!

They are lovely!

They are hand warmers, neck warmers, sore, aching back warmers, warm your tootsies in a cold bed or sooth an ache..pretty all purpose! My understanding is that you put them in the microwave and get them really hot, they must hold the heat a long time. Wildsky can explain better since she made them but that is what I've been told..seem like an awesome gift idea!! Gonna have to learn to sew straight lines I guess, lol!!

That is a fabulous idea- just nuke and aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh. Sounds like the perfect thing for the freezing car seat in the morning, too. Could call it "In the Hot Seat". Or "Heat 'n Seat"! Or, "Hot Buns".

Oh dear, there I go again

Once I get on a roll, it's hard to stop-

I can't sew a straight seam either Scrambled Egg, but if you use a patterned fabric, it won't show! What kind of fabric? And do the bugs get in them? Here in coastal SC the bugs get into everything!

The gifts this year consist of preserves in various flavors, orange marmalade, pickled okra, and whatever else I suddenly decide to make. Food, food and more food! Next year just might be ideas from this thread!

I made a hand warmer for Jim. I plan on taking the rice out once it warms up enough that he won't use it. Then when it gets cold again, more rice will go back in.
