If I had to charge by the hour it would be way too much.

Actually my next one wouldn't take too long since I already figured it out. I try to keep my hobbies something I just enjoy doing. I have done a lot of wood crafts in the past and made good money doing it. It's hard to compete with imported craft items these days. I find a lot of cute cheap stuff that is imported and I couldn't even make it for the price I paid.

The only way you could make a lot of money off of selling crafts cheaply, is if you had a major amount of overhead, stuff on hand. If you buy 1000 necklace chains, and made them by the bucketloads, yeah, you could afford to sell them for $2. But, if your like me, and can only afford to make them one at a time, then no, you cant sell it cheap and make a profit. Youd have to charge $10 each necklace. or whatever your making. I dont have the room to make a bunch of craft stuff to sell. SO glad I just enjoy people liking what few things I make. I would sell if I could afford it. lol But I love being able to give my crafty stuff away. Makes me happier.

Me too!! My daughter says. "Mom, why do you spend all your money to make stuff you just give away?" I said the same thing, it makes me happy. We must both be nuts!!

Agree! My kids always say that about the soap..sell it Mom. I dont like to haggle with people over prices and I am way too critical of the things I make to be confident about selling.

Hey Monica..what's a yucca walking stick??????? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

I just wanted to mention a dry goods store I was told about at church this morning.
A visiting minister's wife said she buys all kinds of material from this place.

Marshalls Dry Goods in Batesville, Arkansas.
They sell by the bolt and at wholesale prices. Also, you can purchase online at a great price.

Thought ya'll might be interested.
