...love them all, no wonder you refused to
do any more of the themed blocks!!! I like those dresden plates..a short story on the string quilts..my dhs grandmother used to keep a newspaper page at her sewing machine, at any time she would have a string of fabric left from sewing, she would sew it to the page, before long she would have enough for a top, ( my mil has several that she didn't take the paper out even) they are really interesting to see all the fabrics from that time..30's-40's

These dishclothes/ washclothes are probably the same pattern that she made. It's really old and really simple. You will need either size 6, 7 or size 8 circular needles. They work great on both. You can buy the small balls of sugar and cream or Peaches and cream cotton yarn from walmart or michaels or Hobby lobby for about $1 and some change per roll. You can make two washclothes per roll.

Here is the link to the pattern online.

Jenlyn, do you have the pattern for those dishcloths? I can't knit...yet...but will eventually learn. My grandmother used to make those exact dishcloths and I don't have the pattern, but would love it if you could send it to me :big_smile

great idea!!that may be the next quilt..this past winter I made 20 or so rag rugs with a lot of older fabric left over from crafting days and other quilts..so a lot of my strips were used up..but they are starting to accumulate again..
