Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
Dreamy those spiders are gorgeous!!!! You did an awesome job and thankfully you take better pictures than me! I will get one made with my christmas beads tonight or tomorrow and take a good picture, I promise. Did you copy the legend? That's what makes it so special and people will put them in their tree every year no kidding, a tradition! How cool is that?! Very nice!!

Here is a Christmas Spider I just made with my new beads from Michaels (no kit)....

Zookeepper - My first spider is made of about an 8mm green and black swirl slightly triangular stone for the head and the back is a flat oval. As you can see it is larger. The pink spider is made with 6mm crystal for the head and the tail is an oval pink pearl I am guessing somewhere around 10 mm. It really does not matter what size you use as long as the head is smaller than the body. Say a 6mm with a 10 or 12mm or a 4 with a 8 or 10mm. The bigger the body the longer the legs will need to be. The smaller the body the smaller the legs. My larger spider has more seed beads between body and legs than the smaller one plus an extra bead between the two leg sections just to make the legs slightly longer.
Hope this helps.

Usually my ex mother in law and I get together and have a candy making day, we make several differnt kinds and then she takes half and I take half. I pick up cute little jars, cans, bowls during the year when I find them on sale. I put several kinds of candy in each and then wrap with the colored plastic wrap add a bit of curling ribbon and you have a nice little gift.

For a few family members that had babies I collected baby food jars from them telling them I had a project I needed them for. I then used a glass glue to glue the jars together laying on their sides, start with maybe 10 or 12 on bottem row and work up using less each row you end up with a nice christmas tree shape. Use a bit of board stained for a base. Drill a hole in each jar lid big enough to slide a light from a string of christmas lights in put a bit of tinsel or icicles in the jar then replace the lid. plug in and you have a baby food jar christmas tree. You can make it as big or small as you want but got to have a number of jars that the same as the string of lights.

We have also made pinecone christmas trees, make a frame using a square of plywood and dowels or strips of left over wood in a cone shape. Cover the frame with leftover chicken wire. Then using tie wire tie the pinecones to the chicken wire covering it , we find working from bottem up is easier. Wrap a string of lights around the pinecones after they are attached, you can add glitter and other little things to make it special. I made one with blue lights and crystal looking glitter then added silver poinsettias.

I have seen those..GORGEOUS!!!!! Also the square glass block from Lowes (window glass square) with a good sized hole drilled in the side with a glass safe drill bit and a strand of teeny clear lights shoved in the hole...BEAUTIFUL!!! These can be made for about $15.00 and sell on ebay and other craft places for well over twice that..some lady at work had her husband make about 10 of them one year to sell...by lunchtime I wasn't fast enough to get one..they sell in a flash and are soooooo beautiful. The babyfood jar one with the colored lights in it was a prize at a work Christmas part about 10 years ago...I distinctly remember everyone fighting about who was goig to get it and alot of pouting going on afterward!!! Very nice and easy to make....well, if you can score the baby food jars that is!!!

What kind of candies do you and your Mom make Kajun? Divinity and fudge? yummmmmmmmmmy!!!
