cool stuff folks!! Love the quilt, and the corn/bean/rice pillows! ^_^

i have my boys little pirate chests painted, and now I'm working on a girl box with a butterfly on it for my daughter. When I get it done, I'll post pics of all of them. ^_^

I also got two ornaments done, but I'm not sure how I feel about them. I think I want to add something to them, but i don't know what yet.

What's a paper ball Christmas ornament?

I agree!! What are they!! Thanks for the compliments. They were very fun and easy to make. I need to make some for DD for her bed in Afghanistan. I was telling her about the battle bracelets, she has seen them but not called by that name. She would like to know how to make them. Can anyone direct me to instructions?
I can get spools of the cord at the army surplus store we frequent.

Here are the directions I used Monica..for the battle bracelets. I made one and added it to the box of things I sent Athena, with 50 buckles and 3 strands of parachute cord so they can make their own. http://www.instructables.com/id/Paracord-bracelet-with-a-side-release-buckle/

I
made two cork wreaths this weekend for Christmas gifts, will get pictures of them tomorrow and post, pretty easy to make and I think they look nice.

Still have a bunch of spiders to make so probably work on them tonight.

I bought both the plastic buckles and the 550 parachute cord off ebay. The buckles I sent Athena are 1", very manly looking and the cord is thick. I bought a few 1/2" buckles also and they seemed more suitable for smaller arms like female, ebay for those too..search for plastic buckles. They were like $25.00 for the 50 piece lot of them. The cord was about $4.00 for 100 feet I think. I bought the olive drab and the black becasue I was afraid it would defeat the purpose of camoflague to have bright noticeable colors. I sent all that stuff to Athena so I hope they have enough to work with for awhile. There are some that are not made with the snapping buckles but that instead have a loop on the end that flips over a battle dress uniform button (good luck getting one of those!!) or even better, over and Iraqi coin (I doubt we will ever see one of those!!) but the idea is that there are a few creative ways to hook them if no buckles are available. I had to pull the cord pretty tight to make my rows nice and even but the one I made did look pretty good when I was done with it. I left the ends hanging so Athena could cut or melt them, scared to mess it up, lol!!!

I think if I were making them with a scout troop for the scouts to wear, personally, I would use nylon crochet thread and a pretty bead or buckle on the end..smaller, less weight and less "masculine" looking....jmo..I know soldiers want the real deal but us civilians, I dunno, it was cumbersome feeling to me.....
