Those look great! I so want to make spiders this year, but couldn't find any beads I liked at the store. I might raid DGD's beads, she just bought lots. This year I mainly have to make do with what I already have , can't buy much additional supplies.
As soon as I put the pic. into the computer, I will post the first beanie DGD made with her new hoop knitting loom, she is making one for grandpa right now.

Went to Michael's yesterday and got a couple more of the wooden rings to make some more cork wreths, have more corks already and buy the decorations at the Dollar Tree so will be working on those this wekend. Might make the white glycerin base soap I've been thinking about with Peppermint scent and a red swirl. Still making spiders like crazy too, lol!! Made two more last night. I have the Legends printed out but I am not happy with a half page sized print out, I am thinking more like 4x4 and on some old timey looking card or tag. I know I can tea stain for the old look, might get some card stock paper and cut it with the funky scissors and tie to my spiders...hmmmmmm I do have another michael's coupon....

Try printing it out on some of that parchement-look paper, cut out with regular scissors, then singe the edges with a lighter. Ends up looking really cool. Have done this before with other projects. Just do it outside so the soot/smoke doesn't get all over the house (learned that one the hard way). Tilt the paper a little over the flame and you can scorch marks over the writing. Then roll them into scrolls and tie with a bit of raffia. Ends up looking like an ancient treasure map that way.

May take a couple of tries to get the hang of it. Rub away any blackened edges off before you roll it up and it won't be messy for the recipients.

I would use your quilts Speckled! A lot of the times family doesn't appreciate home made stuff and that's sad

Solution: put ME on your list. lol. Or make and donate to charities that auction to raise money for those less fortunate. My ggm made silk quilts and somehow I managed to get my hands on one. It was spread out on the floor and the kids were using it for a checker board...and the dog was laying on it...and my mom stopped by and had a fit that didn't have it someplace "safe." I thought ggm would have been happy that we use it all the time.

I like the singed edges for the paper also. I made a "journal" of a Native American girl on the trail of tears for my Oklahoma History class in the 9th grade, and stained the paper with tea and burned the edges and I got an A+ ^_^

Woot! I r creative
