If anyone is lacking in idea inspiration, browse around ETSY.com a bit.....man oh man what a ton of nice home made stuff on that site!! Some beautiful stuff folks make, alot of our own have ETSY shops too, very clever idea the whole homemade sales site thing..but check it out if you are at a roadblock for ideas! I have been making crocheted washcloths like crazy to go with my glycerin soaps but I haven't been packaging them as nicely as the folks on etsy!!! Will be working on that today, lol!! Happy crafting folks!!

I haven't read all the posts about black walnuts, but I've heard that the old fashioned hand corn sheller would work. I know by experience that walnuts stain. I once was in a hurry and knew better and still didn't wear gloves--what an embarrassment. To make it worse we had to go to the airport to pick up my cousin.

LOL! I know that feeling Country..it was about 4 days before it wore off my hands!! I have about 80 of them spread outin a corner of my patio drying out, then I guess I will have to look for some way to get that outer husk off. Maybe it will crack and fall off and just leave the shell when it dries out? I have no idea, my closest experience with walnuts has been Foodlion until now!!!

We live in black walnut country here and I can tell you that the outside husk will split as it dries out. The local feed stores are the drop off place for black walnuts each Oct. Then Hammonds Nuts picks them up. They run ads around Sept ...this year it was thirteen dollars per hundred pounds. Lots of folks make extra cash each fall this way.

Saturday I'm working on painting my salt dough ornaments and telling DH we need to make blackberry jelly. He tells me 'we' have too many projects going on at once, and should finish something before starting something new. I told him not to worry, the UFO's would become FO's shortly. I was smiling when I said this.

Last night we made the jelly....

The salt dough ornaments are still UFO's

I was looking at one of my gardening books yesterday reading about forcing bulbs. DH just surprised me with 100 daffodil bulbs! I was thinking about forcing a few to put in my Christmas baskets. The book says that it takes three weeks. I haven't ever done this. Has anyone done this? Does it only take three weeks? I need to know if I have to start them today or can I wait until next week?
