Crafters- What are you making???

The small blocks of melt and pour base are 2 pounds and sell around here for about $11. The soaps I made are about 4 oz each so you can make about 8 soaps. I buy my soap base at AC Moore & Michaels using the 40% or 50% coupons they have in their ads each week (you can also print the coupons off of their websites). They also have larger 5 or 10 pound blocks too. The only other thing you need is color & fragrance. which is inexpensive and a little goes a long way. You can buy commercial molds for a couple of dollars or make your own molds.
Hobby Lobby usually has a coupon on their website as well (they will also email it to you every Sunday morning along with their ad for that week if you sign up for their mailing list).

I miss having an AC Moore around. It was always my favorite between those three.

Well here in the sticks we don't have any of those mostly mom and pop store at least the ones that the economy hasn't effected to badly a cupon around here is who you know lol

Oh I know that feeling. Hobby Lobby is a good half hour drive for me.. worse if the traffic is bad.

I usually just buy art supplies online since Hobby Lobby doesn't usually have the selection I need. So thank goodness for MisterArt.com and places like it.
Hobby Lobby is more of "craft supplies" & "scrapbooking" (silk flowers, melt & pour soap, mosaics, scrapbook supplies, decorative items and wall art) where MisterArt is more "art supplies" like paints, airbrushes, pastels and sculpting supplies.

Hobby Lobby DOES have an art section.. but the local one here is really, really tiny. They found that they have a bigger scrapbooking community here so that's who they cater to. So the art department has shrunk over the past few years and the scrapbook section now takes up a good third of the store. Which isn't a problem if you are into scrapbooking.. it's just that I'm not.. lol

Me too ~ I live about 1/2 hour from AC Moore, 45 minutes from Michaels and over an hour from Hobby Lobby. Fortunately I like AC Moore the best!

I would rather live in the sticks and have a longer drive than in a more urban area!

Our closest AC Moore is about an hour and a half away... (In Austin I think). When I lived up North I was about 15 minutes away from one. I loved it! They had a nice selection of the art supplies that I used on a regular basis. I've never been to the one in Austin so I can't say what their selection is like. There is an Asel Art there and we always go to it instead. The only problem with going to Asel is that I can drop $ 500. without blinking.. so I try to limit my trips there and stick with Misterart for most of my shopping. At least I can track what all I have in my shopping cart so the sticker shock when I go to check out isn't as bad (I always end up having to save stuff to my favorites to buy at a later date). Art supplies can add up quick.. and for my husband and me it's like turning a little kid loose in a candy store.. so much nice stuff!

I agree with living out in the sticks. I love it here

Looked into soap here and the stores are really PROUD of their product it would cost me $30+ just to make 4 bars of soap guess ill have to look on line
