Boy do I understand that feeling!!!! I have quilt pieces cut for a daughter Christmas quilt and my son's girlfriend's Christmas quilt, they will both be simple 9 patch blocks, have over 300 5x5 pieces cut for each...and I have stolen Jacie's Coop's idea of the handmade wooden blanket boxes and my husband is making those to put the quilts in at Christmas. I am trying to get him to commit to making a smaller one for my son to put his pocketknife collection in so then the major kid gifts are done...was easier when all they wanted was toys!!

Prissy, I am def. making the lye soap this year..this summer I think, it is on my agenda to upgrade from the melt and pour soap making this year!! I haven't even made that since before Christmas...12 more hands and 12 more hours in the day..yep that would help!

Make the boxes out of cedar. Moths will never eat those quilts.

Can you make me one? Seriously. What would it cost?

I am going to make wooden boxes for the girls quilts as I get done too. We have some nice pine boards I was going to use but, maybe I should reconsider that?

The fabric will be the same as the bread machine cover. I got a whole roll of the fabric for $2.00 a yard (total $20) It's a very nice thickish fabric and I may make the curtains with a liner on the back of the fabric.

Matter of fact, I love the curtains you put, I think, in you bathroom. I like the style...do you have a pattern you used or did you just cut and sew. Please let me know, I would love that design for the kitchen.

That fabric will make cute curtains!

I didn't have a pattern - I just kind of made it up! The bottom (kind of cafe style curtain) was simple - it's just a long rectangle with a rod pocket and hemmed edges. The top was a little more complicated, but still relatively easy. I did a valance for the center and for the two side swags I measured how wide and long I wanted them and since the fabric was the same on front and back, I just cut the rectangle of fabric on the diagonal - then where the sides would meet the valance, I cut the point of the triangle off where it would be the same size as the valence. I hope that makes sense. It's hard to explain it in words. It would be tougher with fabric that has a "right" side and a "wrong" side - unless you want the swag the same width and height. Then you could use the method I did because your fabric would be square. If you wanted it wider than it is long or vice versa, I would cut one side and use that one as a pattern for the other side, I guess. hope that makes SOME sense.

Parson's Wife - those turned out well!

ok here is a crochet tshirt rag rug in progress being guarded by a pit bull
I think you get the idea it is kind of remedial crochet here a half double back and forth with the biggest hook you can find and a bunch of old tshirts cut into a tube first from under the armpits (saving the rest for later fringe) mine are very "Rustic" rugs I am sure pro's can get very detailed and make some cool things ..it is folded in half in the picture and the ball of yarn for now is about the size of a bowling ball now maybe? when I run out I make a new ball and just keep going until it is done! I have almost half done then will put fringe on two sides
I do suggest you start with a throw rug first this is a huge heavy project!

Hidelight my grandmother made those when I was really really little!! I just didn't know what they were called and that they were made out of t-shirts!! I think she used to use her pastel colored night gowns as well. That is really cool!!
