I'm still not sure on the way they made the casing, drawing 6 looks like they just turned the seam allowance to the inside, but the the next drawing shows a much smaller casing. But if it worked the way that you did it the first time, except for the length, you should be okay now.

wow, I finally read all of this thread...
I got some GREAT inspirations and now I'm frustrated because most of my craft stuff is in storage and I can't get at it... agh!

I saw those parachute cord bracelets being sold on another site for more than £20! so when I can get the bits I need I'll make myself one.

I've taken the crafter's pledge now though -

"I swear that each day I will try to make something or take a step towards the completion of a larger project"

so far this week I've made flapjacks and a birthday card.

still need to think of one for today... possibly a small paper gift box, as they're quick and easy.

thanks. I've always been craft-addicted so this thread was great.

I dabble in a lot of crafts... but right now I mainly have paper and glue that I have access to, the rest will have to wait until I get a new home. Makes me wonder how I'm going to make all the midwinter presents though :-s I'll probably end up buying MORE craft supplies...

one year I made paper mache bowls and filled them with things like caramelised nuts, homemade caramel popcorn, gingerbread, flapjacks, honeycomb... all in decorative baggies with ribbon etc. Maybe this year I'll have to re-visit that gift.

another idea for those of you who make cards is to make boxes of 6 cards up - when you see how much people have to pay for birthday cards etc in the shop you start to realise how much of a gift that could be!
