You're on a ROLL Scrambled....
Well heck if I EVER get my sewing room set up I'll make you some... I can even embroider on them for you!

sorry i haven't been home didn't see u asked what floam is. it is made of micro beads to make a dough i guess u'd call it for kid's to play with. as for the pm i got i do have the recipe for it, gak and silly putty. i have to go make supper real quick since we just got home. i'll look for the recipes when i'm done for u. some of them r expensive to buy in stores and really cheap to make at home. i have 7 kid's counting his, mine and ours so makeing things at home sure helps alot.

Safety of Borax
The following recipes contain Borax, which is a toxic substance. The experiments should not be done in the kitchen nor near food or food preparation areas. Limit the time children are exposed to it, and tell them never to put it near their mouths, nor eat until their hands are washed. If they have an upset stomach or rash afterwards, push fluids, and the symptoms should go away. When interest has waned, use to kill ants somewhere away from children and pets.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE "FLOAM"

(Without the beads, this also makes Slime!)

INGREDIENTS:

1-Tsp. Borax (available in laundry aisle at your grocery store)**
½-Cup Water (Tap water is fine)
¼-Cup White Glue (available in Craft/Department/Discount Stores)
¼-Cup Water (Tap water is fine)
1-Zip Lock Bag (1 qt. Bag is best)
Food Coloring (Optional- but kids like colors)
Styrofoam Beads (about 2 - bathroom 3 oz. cups full for above) must be micro beads to be same consistancy as store bought floam.

MIXING DIRECTIONS -

1. Dissolve 1-Tsp. Borax Completely in ½-cup (4 oz.) water.

2. In a separate bowl mix ¼-cup (2 oz.) white glue and ¼-cup (2 oz.) water. (1/2 cup each=1 cup of slime). Add a couple of drops of food coloring of your choice to this solution.

3. Pour the glue solution into a zip lock bag. Then add 1-Tbsp. of the Borax/water solution to the glue solution (Another recipe says add the whole borax/water mix, so let me know which works). At this point you will think that this stuff will never come out of this bag.

4. Add Styrofoam Beads to the mixture. These beads can usually be found at any craft store or walmart craft section.

5. Seal bag and knead by hand until thoroughly mixed. Let stand about 15 minutes, and then knead by hand again. Take out of bag when the gel separates easily from the inside bag walls. It will have the consistency of dough.

Oobleck Recipe

Another interesting substance is called "oobleck." It also acts like a liquid until pressure is applied.

Ingredients:
2 parts cornstarch
1 part water
food coloring (optional, as could stain clothing and skin)
