LOL Just jump in and try something. It may take a couple of tries to get it right, or a million, like me with some things, but you can find something that you can learn to do. If not......theres always abstract art!

I am going to knit all different kinds of ortaments (I know that's not right, for the life of me, I can't remember how to spell that word.) Actually, my mom has a kitted rooster pot holder, I was thinking of making stuff like that. It is so much fun to make completely unique stuff like that. I knitted a pink stuffed poodle for the fun of it. I have a pattern for knitted mice, so I changed the pattern slightly and it came out great. It's amazing how many things you can make with a couple of knitting needles.

No kidding Okie, there are at least a million cool ideas just in this thread!!! Poor Hoosier...beware of what you wish for!! You'll soon be scrounging chicken wire, buying glycerin for soap making, diggin out your knitting needles and crochet hooks and scouring the goodwill stores for old records!!!! lol!!! Hats, you are a busy girl too, always making something yourself!! Wish we were all neighbors and could meet somewhere weekly and gab and make stuff!!!

Katy, my MIL made those crocheted snowflakes! Very thin yarn? thread? really small anyway and stiff when finished, starch I guess. We have several that get hung on the tree every year that she made, they are def. keepers!!!

I am crocheting this weekend..I'm in that crochet-a-long with the Lionbrand site working on that sampler afghan and it is pouring down rain and windy here today already from the hurricane so hiberante and crafts for me this weekend..probably throw supper in the crock pot so I dont have to worry about that at all!!! lol!!! Make something cool today ya'll!!!

It's great to drop in here and get inspired every day to get crafting. Unfortunately, there is house work to do before I can get crafting. So much to do, so little time off of work ( Our office is open 46 hours a week - but, since I own it, I can knit or crochet at work if I get a couple of minutes). Happy crafting.

For crocheted snowflakes, I used a ball of cotton crochet thread and a small steel crochet hook. To stiffen them, I used a bottle of stuff I bought at a craft store. I bought a chunk of styrofoam, covered it in saran wrap and pinned the snowflakes to it, to dry, after shaping them. I have one of those leaflets/booklets with a lot of different snowflake patterns in it and picked a few of my favorites.

I also have beaded snowflakes on my tree, along with other ornaments I've made. The beaded snowflakes are made with silver-lined glass beads, strung on fine wire. I got the pattern from a bead magazine, a few years ago.

I hoard fabric like a mad women and this year I have decided to make qulits... I have my daughter with cutting tools making my blocks...I think I will have enough fabric for about 4 twin size qulits...has anyone tried a "rag" qulit? well they have one hanging at the fabric store so I think I am going to give it a shot...if anyone has any tips for the rag qulit feel free to let me know...thanks
