Might want to try cutting back on the dog treats. Just a thought

OMG!! Leo is the baby!! I don't really spent that much on him, but he does have as many packages to open as the kids.
Everybody says my dog is spoiled, but I know him for the little darling he is.

Opps can we say Dollar Tree and Dollar General store toys . I was hoping the $500 was total but, that was just silly of me.

OMG It's been a long time since I have spent $500 on Christmas.

We usually do Homemade Jelly and bake cookies and find something personal like a coffee mug, Day planner, Flashlight or something they will use. We rotate getting 1 of our 5 grandkids something extra speical. This year is Zoe's turn. I may make her a sweater and a pillow for her room. I like the scoodies they look great. I may try that out for all of them. Thanks for sharing girls. Might even make one for me

Great lists ya'll!!! I am doing the record bowls with soaps, maybe bath salts tied in a piece of tulle and a crocheted washcloth and a christmas music cd for my co-workers; my sil & other close family & friends--eggs, apple butter, home made bread & a basket of soap...DH & kids..will have to buy for them.

I was thinking last night that I would dig out my bead kits too and make some more of those Christmas Spiders. People seem to ike them and the legend that goes with them is sweet and they look forward to putting in the tree every year. My co-worker said yesterday (yes, reason I thought about them!!) that the one I made for him 3 years ago is something his little boy looks for every year when they decorate the tree..very cool!! I bought the kits from Mary Maxim, I think one kit makes like 12 spiders and I found the legend on line. They are easy and inexpensive and make a great one thing gift, you know, they are good for giving only that one thing to something, sparkly too!!!
Definately would help with the staying in the under $600.00 range..good stocking stuffers too....man I bet we could post alot on those!! I try to buy those Christmas crackers every year..they have become a silly family tradition with us at Christmas!! Pop the cracker, wear the hat, read the fortune and keep the silly toy!! Just a bit of fun before opening a present..you can find them on ebay, I need to be buying them soon as the get more expensive nearer christmas..go figure!!!

LOVE that scoodie - I'm ALL over that for myself and the kids for winter - I "think" I have some sherpa fabric in my stash somewhere!!! I think I will add a draw string or something - the wind would take that thing right off our heads here - and the little one might just take off ..........................

You probably could do that but it might look a bit "odd" - I think a shaping of the hood would work well, like little darts around the face edge.

Ok Zoo..here is the poem...

Christmas Spider Legend
On Christmas Eve, a long time ago, a gentle mother was busily cleaning the house for the most wonderful day of the year... Christmas day, the day on which the little Christ child came to bless the house. Not a speck of dust was left. Even the spiders had been banished from their cozy corner on the ceiling. They had fled to the farthest corner of the attic.
The Christmas tree was beautifully decorated. The poor spiders were frantic, for they could not see the tree, nor be present for the little Christ child's visit. Then the oldest and wisest spider suggested that perhaps they could wait until everyone went to bed and then get a closer look.
When the house was dark and silent, the spiders crept out of their hiding place. When they neared the Christmas tree, they were delighted with the beauty of it. The spiders crept all over the tree, up and down, over the branches and twigs and saw every one of the pretty things.
The spiders loved the Christmas tree. All night long they danced in the branches, leaving them covered with spider webs. In the morning, when the little Christ child came to bless the house, he was dismayed! He loved the little spiders for they were God's creatures, but he knew the mother, who had worked so hard to make everything perfect, would not be pleased when she saw what the spiders had done.
With love in his heart and a smile on his lips, the little Christ child reached out and gently touched the spider webs. The spider webs started to sparkle and shine! They had all turned into sparkling, shimmering silver and gold.
According to legend, ever since this happened, people have hung tinsel on their Christmas trees. It has also become a custom to include a spider among the decorations on the Christmas tree.

...and here is the only one I could find in the house..I give everything away!!! This is one I painted a wolfpaw on for my daughter's college mascot...the christmas ones I gave away we just like this one with the wolfpaw but a solid color bead...
