craftsman mower rethink before buying

We have had our Craftsman for 3 years. All we have to do to it is keep the oil changed and replace the blades every year. We do add Stabil to the gas, though, to prevent any issues with the ethanol in gasoline.

We never had any issues with our riding Craftsman mowers. However JD is the best one I know so far to mow acreages. our first riding mower was a toro and that thing built to last so long! wondeful little riding machine that don't know when to quit until one day I forgot to check oil and it went kaput!

Now living in the city, I'll stick with Toro, or LawnBoy.

My dad's Craftsman lasted well over 20 years and would still be going if he could find the worn out part. I've seen him pull cars with it. We got him a new one (also Craftsman) that had issues 1 day before the warantee expired. It took a month but someone finally came out and fixed it. It still doesn't have the power of the old one though.
