Someone at church asked how my "girls" were and I told them I now have 15. They just looked at me and said "Why so many???"
I simply said "It's an addiction"
Well, we started with 10 and it was kind of a joke. We now have about 60. This is my first year in chickens. We presently have 3 large tractor coops and 1 smaller one and have at least 1 more in the works. We have about 15 in each of the larger coops. We alternate who gets out in the late afternoon to wander around I know when we start getting eggs it will be insane. We only have our App's who are laying as they were adults when we got them.
I was home be myself yesterday and spent the day watching the chickens outside. I just moved my chair from spot to spot....
So needless to say, I learned about chicken math......
I am only in month 2 of chickens but my kids will tell you I LOVE THEM! lol I check on them like 10 times a day no wonder we are getting behind with other things lol. Oh well I wouldn't change it

Brook, I've only had chickens since the beginning of March and yesterday with everything I had to do, I kept having to go out and check on my chickens.
I've earned my Crazy Chicken Lady merit badge... Yesterday my son had minor surgery (set #7 of ear tubes, poor boy) and I accidentally ended up selling two Silkies to the anesthesiologist. He's coming this weekend to get them. I swear I did not set out to chickenize the medical staff!
