Crazy Eggs!

Here are my two girls. They laid their first eggs today! I know that they each lay one as I was hyper vigilant and was checking the coop multiple times a day for eggs as I knew it was going to be soon! Who lays which egg and what the heck kind of chickens are they?! The breeder said they were bantam Cochin (the black one seems large for a bantam)

Those do not look like bantam cochin egg colors. Can you post side standing shots of your birds?

They may be someone’s color project. So they may be mostly Cochin.

They may be mixed, the black reminds me of a black copper marans, especially if it laid the darker egg. They do look to be part Cochin.

Very nice looking hens and the brown hen is absolutely gorgeous.

the breeder had a Copper Maran Rooster for about a week. Apparently he got to the mom of the black one haha. Not sure on the Dad of the speckled layer!
