Shocked, absolutely shocked that I had a gorgeous blue egg out in the barn with my white leghorns. More shock when I started looking extremely close at them and discovered I have TWO imposters that I had put out there.... they were white, they all hatched the same time, so out they went! What are they? Sulmtaler rooster over Legbar, same as my others that hatched out the same time. This hen has black spots and is crested but has yellow legs. The imposter Roo is white skinned and has a small crest and has a yellowish cast to his hackle feathers and has a totally different shape than the leghorn roos. So two out of 12 hatched were this color and of the other 10 the roos are crele and the hens are partridge color. The Legbars came from the line that had some whites. This line of Sulmtalers are wheaten and carry blue. So what color are these then? The hen is white with black spots and the roo is white with yellowish hackles?
