I wanted to put up a link to a fairly well-written complete yet simple genetic primmer that may be helpful for those of you who are doing crosses. It has lots of pictures which I found really helpful as I am a visual learner (especially when learning about colors

) It even has some information about chick down colors!

Here are my first two CCL roo x GLW hen pullets (glad for the autosexing trait!) The first is just one day older and already so much bigger! She is very happy to finally have company

Do you know all the breed combos that can be used to make sexlink or autosex chicks? Or is this still a learning process where we slowly find out new crosses through trial and error.

A 3rd CCL x GLW chick is out and another is pipped. This one seems to possibly have the slightest light spot on its head - though at the right angle I start to see one on all of them , LOL! What do you think?

still a female.... some CCL pullets have a faint headspot, as long as their headstrip is not affected then its a female
