Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

This is how this generation looks now. I'll incubate just the green eggs. They next generation should be laced with roughly 25% Lavender laced. I don't know how many generations it will take to get the genes set for what I want.

Maybe you would send me a few of those green eggs to try out and to help figure out what the next step would be??

This is a cross between a cream legbar hen and a white sizzle rooster. I was told earlier that both these chicks are pullets.
this is what she looks like now

Here is my second chick from this cross as both a day old and how she looks now at 7 weeks

Aren't they both so cute? Especially the second one? She has the prettiest frizzled feathers and has such intricate black and white markings on them

Hi. I know these pics are almost a year old, but I think I might have a Frizzle Legbar. Its also possible its an entirely different breed, or maybe even has a wing deformity, so I'm trying to get as much information as possible. After a solid week & a half of research, yours are as close as I've come to finding anything like mine. My question is; Do you have pics of them between the day old & 7wk shots above (say like 2-4 wks old?) Also can you tell me anything about them? Were they bigger or smaller than the other chicks? Do they lay a classic CCL blue egg? etc... I'd appreciate any info you've got!

Anybody else out there have or heard of a CCL Frizzle?

Anyone have pics of a Legbar x RIR? I have an EE x RIR (looks like a RIR with pea comb) that just started laying pretty bluish green eggs and was thinking of crossing her with the Legbar. Maybe get red barred blue/green layers? Probably not that simple on the feather color...

Has anyone crossed CCL hen x Partridge Penedesenca Rooster?
What was the feather color?
Did they have crests?
And egg color of the offspring? Any info would be awesome.
I have 3 CCL pullets & 1 Penedesenca Roo who are 6 weeks old. I would love to cross them for Olive Eggers.

thank you!

Just hatched what I assume is an EE x Legbar cross. Which is exciting, because I love my Cream Legbar roo.

I'm really bad at this chicken calculator business. I've been trying to lurk this thread for the last few weeks and learn, but I'm still really unsure if I'm doing this properly.

The EE in question lays white/pinkish eggs--is it any more likely that this chick would lay green or bluish eggs as opposed to the chicks getting the first generation of blue in their lines? Not sure what the mom's lines are, she's a khaki EE from Rural King.

I'll take a stab at explaining. The blue egg gene is dominant, so if your EE parent had even one blue egg gene, she'd lay green eggs. Since she doesn't, that leaves you with the blue egg genes passed by the CL male (so, 50% chance for a chick to receive a blue egg gene). (That assumes the CL has two copies, but most/all pure CLs do).

Should be 100% if the CL has 2 copies . All chicks would inherit 1 copy .
