Depends on the cross but probably not . That is a pullet trait .Just curious, when a cockerel feathers in, can it get a salmon breast, or is that just pullets?
Quote:That means out of these four, I have at least two girls!![]()
The larger, blue one is legbar roo over blue splash Marans and the other three are legbar roo over a cream colored easter egger. Half of those chicks came out chipmunk striped and the other half were just yellow. This one I kept actually had 3 black spots on her back. Now that she has feathers, I think she might still have one or two. Her feathers are not really white. They are a pale cream, and I can see a hint of gold coming in on his/her hackles.
The two chipmunk chicks that I kept are the two with the salmon breasts. This group is one month old today.
I think the British Araucanas are amazing. I wish I could get some here...or maybe develop my own.hmm. Maybe a tailed British Aracauna then? Are there even any of them in this country?
I think Bielefelder have single combs as do Legbar . Those look like Pea Combs . So I would say Ameraucana in the mix based on that .Update on my chicks. The Cream Legbar/Ameraucana hybrids (or Bielefelder / Ameraucana hybrids.... the breeder said she got the chicks mixed up) are coming along well. They are now 4.5 weeks old. The chick on the top has a little rusty golden color to her breast now. I do wish I knew if I have Cream Legbar hybrids or Bielefelder hybrids. I guess I will know once they start laying (????)
The chick on the right has such beautiful feathers right now! She is a good bit flighty so getting a photo is difficult with her.
The chick on top in this photo is an Australorp.
