Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

I haven't been around much but got some pics today. Here is my leg-am-bar. Her mother was an ambar (at the bottom) which has barred rock, ameraucana, partridge rock, and RIR in her lineage. The sire was a pure legbar. She was hatched by a leghorn. Her color is the same as my legbars and she has a small crest but she has the comb and beard/muffs from her mom along with her moms bulky body. I think I'll breed her to a rose comb cock or maybe just a BCM for olive eggers.

Her mother

Ahhh I see cushion combs in your future . Hmmm add duplex to the mix and get a Breda comb . Almost no comb . As you can tell I have been doing a lot of thinking on these cold snowy days .

The turken babies would not cooperate for photos. The four on the left are from CCL eggs. The blue is just food coloring so I could tell them apart. Not sure on the coloring, but I'm hoping the dark one on the upper left is a pullet as well as the stripped one in the center. The light one on bottom I think is a cockerel. The yellow one took on the wheaten color of his dad - won't know gender for 2 or 3 weeks when he feathers out. Both of the light ones sold today.

I'll try to take pics of their siblings that are not NN tomorrow.

I think I remember a judge mentioning that before too long, people will start breeding naked necked and frizzled legbars. Looks like you have a start on it!
I remember that too... it was Walt Leonard. It must be human nature -- or the nature of people who raise chickens or something like that.
