Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

What way are you doing the cross, CL male over Silkie hens or Sillkie male over Cream Legbar hens? I don't know if I how safe it is for a CL male over the Silkie hens.
. That's a good idea. Maybe I'll find a docile CL hen to live with them. And I like the idea of putting the coop 6" off the ground. I may try to retrofit mine with a new base.

Thanks CP!

Mystery Chick:

I thought I mixed up my Legbar eggs with Legbar x EE hybrid eggs during my Easter HAL. But I had 3 chicks hatch exactly like this from what I thought were Legbar eggs. Can someone help me figure this out? Here is the picture of one of the chicks when it was a few days old and now at 3 weeks:

That is a pure legbar, a recessive white sport of them,

Should I be happy or shall I cull them? Since its autosomal recessive, my chances are theoretically 25% correct (although I had 3 of the 4 chicks from one hen).

And why is there no barring? Does this gene suppress barring?

be happy because nature has given you a piece of its wonder, and recessive white covers barring

I still want hatching eggs. Do not cull yet. I will
keep yours seperated and experiment.

I am happy especially since I saw the pics of some adult whites on rarebreedauctions. They could look pretty cool especially with the blue egg.

Don't worry no culling. In fact I am regretting not buying the ones that were on auction so that I have 2 gene pools to work with (although they probably going to all trace back to GFF)
