Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

Just wait. They don't have enough/the right set of feathers yet. They will get there.

Here are some chicks at different stages to show how the barring looks on mine. (CL roo over BCM hen)

6 weeks old, still mostly black with just hints of bars:

I've got some eggs set under a broody, some of these are pure cream legbars, but 2 are cream legbar roo x hen shown below, and 1 is cream legbar roo x a similar hen that is all black and also has a crest! I can't wait to see what hatches out :D

Sharing some pics of my 18 week old chocolate barpington (legbar x orpington). Small crest but very friendly. I am hoping for an olive egg but will be happy with a green.

Last 2 pics are with half sister Kim (Choc cuckoo orp split to mottled)

I have 2 Legbar x Chocolate Orpington crosses, I love the deep chocolate color they are. 1 has a small crest and the other doesn't. They are 16 weeks, can't wait to see what color eggs they will have!

Here are some more Blue Breda Gueldre X Cream Legbar Mix photos.

This cockerel turned out with better ear lobes than any of the pure Legbars. He has the type that hold tight to the face (name?) as opposed to the pendant ear lobes that hand down like the Legbars. This one has a single comb with the Carnation sprigs in the back (Proving my Breda Gueldre are pur breed for comb type).

This cockerel also came out with very white ear lobes, but shows the butter cup type comb (which was the expected comb from the cross).

Here is a pait next to each other with an Olive Egger in the back.

None of the Pullets came out with as nice ear lobs as the two cockerels above did. We grew out 8 pullets and about a dozen cockerels. The cockerels were a lot smaller than the pure Cream Legbar Cockerels (or at least the few Legbar boys that were the keepers). The pullets are much slower developing than the pure legbars. At 18 weeks a few of the Legbars are laying, but the Breda Mixed hens still have the pelvic bones touching (they won't be laying for at least 6 weeks).
