We got them from a man who said they were both female, but one has started crowing! This is our first flock, so we’re very new to this. Lizzie Borden has a lot more yellow on her legs and more vivid coloring. Claudia isn’t crowing, but we’re worried about her as well. They’re currently 15 weeks, but these first pictures are them at 13 weeks.

Do those bumps look like the beginning of spurs?

This is the only picture I have of them at 15 weeks. I’ll take more, if anybody can’t tell from the 13 week pictures. Also, they are cream legbars, aren’t they? Either way we can’t have but one Rooster, and we’ve already picked him out. So these guys will have to go, if they are Roos. :(

Those are definitely roosters. I'm sorry

These are NOT cream Legbars. They have beards which it not part of the the Legbar breed, they have pea combs which is not part of the legbar breed, they have a black base/ground color which is not part of the legbar breeds, etc. They could be Americauna mixes. They would NOT be autosexing. They could be black sexlinks but if that were the case the males would be barred and the females would be black without barring. If that is the case then the man you got them from would have known that the barred birds were males. So...probablly not even a sex-link.

This is what Legbars look like.

This is the pullet/hen

Oh no! Do you think the man could have gotten them confused? I know this breed is Autosexing. He did say if any we got from him turned out to be Roos, he’d take them back, so hopefully he’ll keep his word. We also have a few from another breed, that we got from him, that we’re also pretty sure, are Roos.

I've heard that if autosexing isn't carefully selected for in breeding, it can lose accuracy down the line. I'd go ahead and contact the breeder and see if he'll take your roos back and give you hens
