Cream Legbars

yay, i'm driving down this afternoon to pick up the replacement CL plus a basque pullet of the same age -- which is perfect, since one of my two basque chicks turned out to be male & i just sold him friday... so it all works out! and i'll be interested to see what sort of eggs Amelia the project girl ends up laying!
thanks again!

Miss Amelia not Only lacks any sex linked Barring, autosomal recessive Cream on her. she shows partial lacing(Pg/pg+) on her breast... she is not a CL, but she could be a project bird? maybe you are doing an outcross of some sort? where did you get her?

She is a Crele Penedesenca x Cream Legbar cross. Deann has been breeding them. the chicks look close to the legbar she mentioned. Here is a Crele hen and rooster.

Hey Jason, I am loving the pictures of you flock. Very nice. Your rooster looks great. Glad he recovered from the Icelandic run-in.

thanks for the photos, Jason -- i'm not familiar with penedesencas, but those tails certainly are distinctive!

and Deann gave me an absolutely lovely replacement cream legbar today, along with a basque pullet of the same age to keep her company as they transition into my flock -- so, unexpectedly, two wonderful new birds!

the new CL, who i think i will call Lucy

and i've learned a lot today about my chickens!

she is pretty

Great color chart!!!
My CLs are too young to lay but I had to play with the chart, so unloaded all the eggs from the fridge to some good natural light.
Easter eggers: oac81, oac102, oac122
Silkies: oac815, oac816
ISA Brown: oac728
SIlver laced Wyandotte, Buff Orpington: oac764, oac 765
My dream blues for my CLs, way down the road (ever?): oac212, 213, 214, 234, 254.
FWIW, looking at the chart as a whole, my eyes put the division between greens and blues with blues starting at 177. I'd like to hear how others' eyes see it.
You really have a rainbow!!!

I have an EE at 116 and one at 214. It will be so interesting to see what color your clbs will lay when the time comes......... Today I'm going to try some salmon matching on pages 9 and 10--- wonder what I will come up with.
