Cream Legbars

Here is Paula's pullet egg (haven't blown it yet) on the left (40 grams) vs. the one laid today, maybe by Lissa, on the right (36 grams). Paula's are now all 48-50g consistently two weeks into her laying.

And just for fun - some photos of the little flock ranging for the first time in a while, with lots of yummy grass:

I wonder if she could have been bruised??? I'm sorry I don't have any experience with that.

I thought of that at first (she's top of the pecking order and is still being a POA with the new cockerel though the other two have accepted him - she starts minor pecking-order-fights). But it seemed very turquoise in color, not a color one would expect in any sort of bruise, though my human medical training doesn't *necessarily* extend to chicken earlobes...

But the alternative would be that she had hidden silkie tendencies, I suppose...

Regardless, it was WEIRD, In person, it was a Kool-Aid type blue.

Thanks sol2go! We are troubled by badgers foxes and weasels mainly, but have had a buzzard incident. Overall not as impressive an array of predators as you must get across the pond. My cream legbars spend most of their time in and around the shrubbery area, so it was rare to see any of them out in the open.

Those sound formidable actually.

I agree, the weasels alone can be a formidable predator due to their small size a size that allows them to gain entry quite easily in many instances...

Very cute pictures, and a good size for Paula's pullet eggs.
I also thought silkie looking at the earlobe. That would be interesting if the injury affected the color in that way.
