Jett, 21-week-old pullet. No eggs yet, but she's investigating the nest boxes.

what a great pullett...... pretty soon. I think she needs a bit more comb and wattles before she is serious...but investigating... THAT's a good sign she's thinking about it.

I bought some cream legbar eggs on eBay and put them under my broody and they all hatched!

Congratulations...all hatched, and eBay eggs to boot. I love the way that hen is 'instructing' the chick. That photo is priceless.

Here are pictures of my five new CL babies hatched out yesterday. I only see one boy, am I wrong?

Congrats on the clutch of girls. a wonderful lucky circumstance! Your boy looks more gray than brown from this point of view, it'll be interesting to see how he turns out if you plan on growing him out.

Thanks! I will be raising him, mainly because I can't stand the thought of killing any chicks. I have been pretty successful rehoming my boys in the past, so, fingers crossed he keeps the sweet nature he has now.

Yes ChicKat, i'm in Ealing, West London. Where are you from? Is this a predominantly American site?
The Hen was an amazing first time mum at 1 year old! She stayed with them till about 2 weeks ago!

Well my Cream Legbars kept running away from the camera but I managed to get a few pictures. They are about 16 weeks now.
This is my favorite boy (no name yet). He's a bit lighter than his brother and has a better developed tail, a decent crest and a straighter comb.

Hattie and ... not sure but I think it's Favorite Boy. They are stealing scratch/layer mix from the big chicken's doorway. I think the boy is keeping a lookout for Big Stuff the FBCM Rooster!
