Cream Legbars

Thanks. I myself didn't think they would turn white but thought I would ask others who have a little more experience.

And that price range you gave is exactly the range I was thinking so that makes me feel good because I ended up charging $45 so right in the middle.

Buffy, the biggest problem I see with your rooster? He is in your hen house and not mine!

Seriuosly, I really like him! I agree the comb and wattles are a little big. But that is a small problem. Nice tail angle, nice back, maybe a little light in the breast. But 22 weeks is pretty young, he will grow a LOT. How much he weighs would be interesting. What is his temperament like?

........and I like his coloring
I agree with enola. He is a very nice looking cockerel. Your eval of him Buffy was pretty good I agree his comb isn't the best but it's not bad and his wattles are a bit oversized. I like to see more of a white earlobe also but all in all he is nice. Cream coloring is good but I feel his chest and under fluff could be a bit darker barred. I like him, he has many good qualities type wise.

Have you opened up his wing to see if he only displays white and gray?

I apologize for my lack of detailed response lol I'm trying to type on my iPhone.

Thank you Enola and Chicken Pickin! I really appreciate your responses. I feel he is pretty nice too and to be honest I think I got lucky because I really didn't know what I was doing!

I will try to weigh him soon and check his wing feathers. He isn't a fan of being caught and held but he has a nice temperament so far. If anything he is a little wary of me. No aggression...yet (fingers crossed he stays that way). I also like the way he is around the girls. He is polite, dances for them and has been a really great rooster so far.

We are supposed to get our first snow tonight...ugghh I am not ready...but hopefully I can get some pics of his wings and weigh him.

I also have 4 pullets. Three of which I think are pretty nice looking as well. I am having a heck of a time telling if they are cream or not though.

It's a little more difficult to tell on pullets whether they are cream or not but if you post some pics of them we may be able to help you out

Someone call me a whambulance.

I'm trying to up my CL hen population, I had 3 hatches that resulted in 7 cockerels and 4 pullets. I was happy with that until today when I noticed that 2 of them were clearly mutts. They are 5 weeks old.

I have 5 Easter Eggers whom lay the same color blue eggs as my CL's. It is very difficult to make sure I am only incubating the CL eggs and clearly I did not get it right. At least I have 2 perfect little CL pullets.

Today I noticed the mutts.
One has the coloring of a CL, plus puffy cheek feathers and a crest.
The other has CL coloring and a pea comb. I actually think this one may even be a cockerel. Any mutt pullets will go to my neighbor whom only is in it for eggs, mutts are fine with her, and she wants blue eggs. I might even give her those Easter Eggers so that this never happens again.

Am I right? Did I make some mutts?

Clearly one was a mutt, but I hoped I was wrong, the other two auto sexed perfectly, I'm talking about the 3 who are sleeping, not the sweet little CL cockerel guarding them. 2 of those three sleeping chicks turned out to be mutts.
