Cream Legbars

Jumping in and need advice:
Won an auction at RBA and will be receiving 12+ Rees day-old CLs from Greenfire. I have raised a few clutches of chicks before, so I'm not a rank newbie, but was simply wondering if there is anything those of you who have been raising CLs would suggest/note as different when raising this particular breed. Anyone saying, "I wish I had . . ."?

to jump in...beware of frostbite on your roos....but then you're in TX.......

So frustrated. I bought 5 CCL's here on BYC in the fall, 4 pullets & 2 cockerels. Well, after caring for them this long I do believe I have 5 cockerels and only 1 hen. I also had a FGCM "Pullet" that turned out to be a cockerel. Sure changes my lay expectations for spring : (
I'm going to post pics here just to be 100% sure they are cockerels before I give them away/cull them. This is my first experience with this breed. Also, which to keep? Are they darker feathers more desirable?
How should I handle the sale? Chalk it up as an honest mistake (as I'm sure it was) and take the $ loss (can't keep the cockerels) or ask for a refund/replacement? What would you do?

This is the pullet. I sure hope.

To be honest, these boys look like they have only one copy of the barring gene, so are crossbreeds. This would explain why the seller might have thought they were girls ( because it's the double barring gene that causes the light head spot in boys). It might have been an honest mistake ( didn't realize a boy was "making the rounds", etc), so I would give them the chance to make it right.

I agree with this.

The closest male you have to what looks like a proper CL male is the male in the background in pic 5, the last pic that was posted of the males. Also the male in pic one is very obvious not a CL.
