Cream Legbars

I think it really helped that I culled the roosters that were so light in color. I only kept the darker gray ones with cream. I really wish I could get good pictures of them. At the same time, who knows. I could always end up with wonky colors in the next batch. Lol So, we will see.

Congratulations on the chicks! I didn't get any yellow ones and I have a bigger flock of them (11 females with my main male and I'm considering putting half in one pen with one rooster and half in another pen with another rooster I like). I wonder if it is truly yellow or if you have some of the lighter genetics going on. Please keep us posted when you hatch more!

It truly looks yellow. Male chicks from my other CL flock often hatch very blonde, this chick is very very yellow compared to the blonde males I also have in the incubator. I haven't gotten one like this before. I think I see slightly darker yellow chipmunk markings and maybe my eyes are tricking me but I think I can make out a V on the head and eyeliner, maybe a pullet? I will be pulling these first 13 out tonight to put in the brooder I will try my best to get a few pics of them.

I have them separated by bloodlines in the incubator and I was going to zip tie their legs according to who they belong to but DH thinks we should use a sharpie nail polish of food coloring to make it easier. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this?

Interesting. Now, I wonder if that recessive white is in the Rees Line too.

Happy Easter to all you egg enthusiasts!
I enjoyed seeing all the pretty eggs, natural and decorated; the corona was a nice touch!
I have trays of hatching eggs sitting around which seems to be making my husband nervous. He was relieved to hear that they are for the hatching program at a local school, and not to increase my flocks =)

Looking forward to lots of baby chick pics - maybe a recessive white pullet @chicken pickin ?!
I have also had dark down chicks as pictured by @Audio51
which grew into light colored cockerels, but not in a good way. Very interested to see your future pics.

Sorry for the sad outcomes @duluthralphie
While I don't know the circumstances of your chick, is anyone else familiar with this technique: my avian/poultry vet suggested a sterile eye wash such as Bausch & Lomb may be used to add some moisture into the shell around the chick if it is not zipping along due to dryness.

So I am thinking maybe it is more of a blondish male, maybe not recessive white. Out of the incubator its not as yellow as it seemed and is close to my other blonde males. Im not positive. (the green on his chest is just food coloring)
This is a Rees line chick.
