Cream Legbars

No . He looks like a barred Rock mix . No white in the ear lobes . I say mix because he has only 1 barring gene .The odd black feather (s) give it away .

he is not pure Legbar, probably not Legbar in him.

I am going to agree with the other two, not CLB and maybe none at all in him.

My reasons:

Too heavy of a frame, chest is more meaty than any CLB I have seen.
The comb is wrong.
Does not have white ear lobes.
The tail is wrong. The only thing he has in common with a CLB is a little barring and a light red tone, but his appears to be more bleed through than natural.

Not even a smidgeon of a crest. That skirt he is wearing to me says meat bird.


BUT I would take Jerry's word over mine, He has forgotten more about chickens and chickens genetics than most of us will ever learn.

So, just thinking out loud, it's possible that some of the hens that look cream might be sun bleached, right? If that's true, I bet some of mine are.

While I have heard that discussed, I have not seen any evidence of sun bleaching in my climate.

I have heard the sub bleached thing before. I have some nearly 4 month old birds that have never been outside and someone told me a few of the girls looked sun bleached. I think this ranks up there with Sasquatch sightings.
