I really should join all the breed clubs and the apa for funsies at least... But I don't know if I will be able to attend any shows to make it worth my while to do so

What do you guys think of my legbars? They are 5 or 6 months just started laying.
Thinking of starting to breed them these are the first three I bred from two I bought from a lady locally she said she bought hers from private seller so I'm not sure on the quality of them

I will get pics soon of the 2 parents I'm starting with which is the parents of these three

And the first 2 I got parents of the three above

Flaws I have noticed are red in the earlobes on the roo and maybe the crests are too dark?
Any thoughts?

Thank you, would mine be considered golden crele? I'm just getting started and I've been reading on here and on the legbar club website. I never knew about the golden crele always just saw everybody say cream legbar or actually crested cream legbar.
My cockerel seems to have a lot less coloring then his father not sure if that's good or bad I got a lot of studying to do to figure all this out so I appreciate any help I get

in the US there is all sort of leg bar chooks ,
I m not really good on them .I just start rading and educating my self about them .
a lot people in Backyard chicken know about them better and have many different varieties .

I'd say your boy has better color than ole dad, but I'd like a better side view of your boy to judge his stance better. And yes, there is still some debate about differences between golden crele and cream, where is the line separating them. The extremes and ideals of both varieties are obvious, but there's a blurry place between.

I just got a call from a gentleman in England who just lost his male pen of gold legbars! As far as I know there are no true gold legbars here in the states, only golden crele, a separate variety. A badger tore through the backside into the house.
Is there any gold legbars in the states?

All Legbars (and other autosexing breeds) are genetically crele. A non-crele gold would not be autosexing, just a brown leghorn that lays blue eggs and has a small crest. I think that oould be easily created my putting a brown leghorn roo over a gold crele legbar pullet. IMO, autosexing (crele) is one of the most important breed characteristics of a Legbar.

Gold legbars have no crest and lay white eggs. They were not a part of the cream legbar experiment, but are autosexing. They don't have the "Chilean hen" influence. He's looking because he has one of the last flocks in England and he chanced across my website.
I do have golden crele legbars, however that's not what he is looking for, sadly.
