I didn't count every chicken I've feather sexed, I have gotten only three wrong total. How many mixed breeds have you sexed? How many incorrectly and correctly?

Well, it does matter whether you've sexed 3 out of 10 wrong, or 3 out of 30.I didn't count every chicken I've feather sexed, I have gotten only three wrong total.
x2Well, it does matter whether you've sexed 3 out of 10 wrong, or 3 out of 30.
I've done a recount, 3 wrong out of 25 or so. I do small hatches.Well, it does matter whether you've sexed 3 out of 10 wrong, or 3 out of 30.
That's impressive. It's almost on par with vent sexing.I've done a recount, 3 wrong out of 25 or so. I do small hatches.
I can do that with my next hatch coming up soon. I have chicks due to hatch on the 6th, and 7th. Plus turkeys on the 8th.That's impressive. It's almost on par with vent sexing.
I've always been skeptical since I understand the science behind wing sexing and I've tried it myself at different times.
I'd be curious what you look at or see exactly. Maybe you're using some details that are different then what I know as feather sexing IDK.
I am curious and interested.
I think this should be a thread you should start. I know you enjoy active threads of your own and always take plenty of pics so why not have a thread on the subject?
You could show the chicks at time of your predictions and show in detail what you're seeing and maybe the differences.
I think it would be a popular thread and if it works to that amount of accuracy could be very useful to many and be a good jab at us skeptics.
About how many died before you could be absolutely sure about the sex (8-10 weeks)?I've done a recount, 3 wrong out of 25 or so. I do small hatches.
1 died, a project chick. I did have a 7 week old buff Orpington chick that died due to faulty introduction into the flock last year, it was a pullet.About how many died before you could be absolutely sure about the sex (8-10 weeks)?
