Hate to break it to you, but that ain't right. I breed d'Uccles and they are a fast feathering breed. If your hen was a d'Uccle she will NOT through any offspring who can be feather sexed because you need a fast feathering cock over a slow feathering hen.

I know what I'm doing, plus I'm going by the down color of the D'uccle cross chick also.

Also WHY are you breeding Australorp into your chicks if you want barring? What purpose does it serve?

The first chick I had of the same crossing was a silver color, this one is a tan/dun color.

It was part of my experiment for determining how dark I want them to be. Also too see what breed would fit best for my experiment. That other Aussie cross is going to be part of my chicks that I'm planning to sell, not for my experiment unlike the last one.

Have a pic of that silver duckwing OEGB? If he is pure for silver he should only produce silver pullets. And cockerels that should appear silver although they would carry gold from their MF mother.
That new chick to me is your mystery chick.

I don't have a picture of the OEGB at the moment, but I can do that tomorrow, he does have some gold leakage though, mainly on his shoulders.

Sounds like he isn't pure for silver but is silver/gold which would explain the chick being gold.
When bred to the MF hen he could throw silver or gold pullets and pure gold and silver/gold cockerels.
So no sex linked chicks. Either sex could be or appear either color.
