Updates on my Blue "Mottled" Ancona chick.View attachment 1871121 View attachment 1871122 She was 10 weeks when these pictures where taken, she's about 12 weeks old, & has darker solid blue feathers growing in on her back instead of white spotting.

I have two more of the cross under a silkie right now. Due to hatch on the 21st.

Cute. I did confirm that my main white silkie rooster I use for breeding does have lavender in his DNA.

So cute!!

We were told all those chicks were silkies. We had 8 but one didnt make it. 4 are cochins and 3 are silkies but I have no clue about genetics and varieties or any of that.

I got these because our red rangers were stolen and we needed chickens out there for pest control and helps with the grass too.

I just really got into chickens because I just love all the different colors and breeds you can get. They all have diff personalities. My first set of chickens was june 29th.

And all the ones we got were for free. And most were in a bad living situation. I only bought some because we have too many roosters.

But back to the silkies thing.

Theres on in the bunch thats getting some really cool feathers to and idk if it maybe was crossed.

I'll try to get pics of him tomorrow cause its been about a week and more defined feathers came in ad hes losing his fuzz kinda
