Creating Experimental Black Crele Chickens (Different Genetics, new variety)

Pics
Did the bird have shelter? With proper shelter and that much feathering the chick should have been able to survive it.
Yes, the chick had shelter, but it wasn't enough. The chick was able to survive high 50's, and low 50's, but not the 40's.

Here's the parent's of the chick.

I have a silver/gold duckwing leghorn that looks about the same as that one does.

I had to file down the sharp points on his spurs a week ago. He sometimes chases my silkie roo around in the run, but nothing major. The funny thing is, he likes me so much, today he was offering me a piece of corn. It was cute.

Doesn't matter. He'd still have it.
Even though that new chick is a different color then the other one, the feathers growing in on the wings are coming in the same color as the first chick of the same cross.

My other Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X Australorp cross chick actually has buff coloring coming in this time.

The pictures of what I'm trying to create are in this thread, just need to look for it. Thank you, I believe experimenting is needed.
