Critical breeds list

hello,
We have 4 delaware hens no roo, but they are laying nicely, are very pretty chickens i think. We have 6 white java chicks about 2 months old, 2 hens and 4 roos i think not sure but my best guess judging by the combs and lack thereof. Wondered what to do with so many java roos dont want to just wack them would rather have them continue the java breed for others. Do we need to register these with some organization so that they can be added to the existing numbers???? just curious.

Hi
The Lamonas are most likely on the extinct list. Although I would really love to see the Lamona breed so I am hopeing someone out there is breeding them and someday will offer them to the public.

This is a great idea, there is lots of wonderful breeds that are on the list. And I'm sure lots of breeders that are unknown.

I think it has more to do with the way they classify the birds as critical. 5 flocks of 50 birds or more. Most people don't have 50 birds or more of one breed, but a 1000 people can have small flocks of a breed and it not really be critical. I am just starting a flock of houdan (so far 1 roo, 2 hens and a chick), the eggs were rarer than some but not totally difficult to find.

I am not sure what "pinned" means so I can't add my dollar sign yet.
