Welcome back to all the "oldies"! Glad you're back.
Leepsy, I would so gladly share this rain with you. And anyone else who'd take some if I could. It was just a cloudy day today with only a little drizzle and lots of fog early. Forecast calls for cloudy and warm tomorrow (mid 80s) and then back to rain for the next three days. Eastern Ok and Northeast Tx are just sitting here under this weather system that won't go away. Right now, it's 68 deg with 94% humidity. Hard to breathe.
While I've been laid up with this ankle, I've made an afghan for a friend having a baby in June and started another large one for me, I guess. Or maybe to gift later. Crochet was about all I could do.
SE, I don't even have tomatoes planted, or squash either. Had both going in peat pots on the back porch, but they bit the dust. DS didn't water at first and then drowned them! He's not a gardener. Not a chicken lover either, but has done a really good job of caring for them, my bunnies and cats while I've been laid up. Glad he was willing to look after what he did.
Now if Karan was closer so I could get awesome maters from her to put out......

**drumroll**.......Okay, here it is......2 months after the baby is here & one week before my surgery........This is what has kept me so busy!!!!

& 99% of it was all sewn to the front (so not to be seen on the back), ALL of it was hand sewn on...like one of the bears had 9 pieces to it. It was all done in single crochet!
Glad to be done with it!!!

That afghan is beautiful! You did such a good job. Where did you find a pattern like that? I have never seen one that is like Crochet Applique.

Blossom...We have a 50% chance of rain tomorrow.Would love to get some.

SE...I sure wish I could get on the Internet SuperHighway. We are so rural here we don't even have cable. I have satellite TV but just can't afford satellite internet.

no chicks...What an adorable pattern!

I finally got a computer again, I have missed everyone a lot!
Since I wasn't able to chat with everyone here, I've just been hatching chicks. We have about 450 little ones right now, and more hatching as I type.

DH had to get busy and build another cattle panel hoop house so I could move 181 chicks out of the brooders...I didn't have any more space to put newly hatched babies! The hoop house he just built is 20 feet long, and he will have to build another one that size soon.

We just had to put tarps over it for now, he was going to put a coop made from a trampoline frame attached to it and use it as a run, but the frame wasn't as straight as he wanted, so that will be finished and put out in one of the pastures for my goats when I rotate pastures, or used for a kidding barn.

I've been crocheting towel toppers and pot scrubbers. I just found a pattern using plastic grocery bags to make scrubbers from. Real easy and works pretty good too...and recycling too!!!

Blossom, we are due rain today too but that really is why my garden looks so good, we have had a good many days with rain and in between hot and sunny. Sounds like you've been hookin up a storm girl, glad your ankles are better, hugs to you too

Leeps, I sure remember those dial up days, my son said said we were living in the stone ages, I had no idea the difference dsl would make and this computer is so old now it runs like a turtle, that new laptop Travis has zips along like a blink, never seen anything run that fast! Technology changes soooo fast!!

Gotta check another thread or two and get outta here...no lottery millions yet so off to work, happy to still have my job though

what a beautiful baby blankie!!!!!! i started to unpack some of my crochet things yesterday,alot of the stuff is in storage,we are brining down a few boxes at a time and just taking what we absoultly need for right now. so yes my crochet stuff is deff a must!!!!
havent really done it in a long time i hope i remember how.

its gonna be like 85 today but then severe storms this afternoon with a tornado watch to boot.
i just wish all this rain would go away. it has been raining now for about 3 weeks!

Morning

We have a gloomy day here, and rain on the way

The past 2 days have been so beautiful, hate to see that end. We got almost all of our stuff planted in our gardens

Dh planted 500 and something green beans seeds yesterday evening... he's really trying to break my back this year

I've been working on a babyhgan for my daughters teacher, they are having a baby shower for her next tuesday or thursday... shes having a girl, I'm making a lavender doubled crocheted granny square. (baby yarn)

We got rain and wind yesterday and looking for more today. our garden is starting to take off.

I planted up some English Daisies last night I can't wait to add them to my front yard plantings
