Hi You all! Good to be able to see you again. Yeaterday I put up the fence around the coop and got a bit sunburned, so I am staying out of the sun today. Just a few more finishing touches and it will be done. I lost my blue frizzle cochin roo to a hawk the first week I moved. He did give me some babies, all males. One looks just like him. I lost a serama in a terrible rain storm. She drowned. So mad at myself for not building a roost for her. But I just couldnt do everything. I even got me 4 Buff Orpington Standard sized chicks for egg layers. (I think 3 are boys
} I am going to buy me 3 barred rock hens next week for egg chickens.
I am building my bantam cochin flock, silkies flock, and seramas. I picked up a black tailed white Japanese that was headed for the chopping block because of her scaly leg mites and I am healing her. Hopefully I will get a roo to go with her. She is sweet. The 3 week old Orpingtons are the same size as her.
I have a very small garden that was planted late, but at least I got it started. Still renting. Maybe someday I will own a bit of land and a small cabin or trailer. Then I can have all the animals I want.
Looks like my silkie flock is growing up mostly males. I dont know if you remember, But I had a black silkie male named Sylvester that died and his "friend" Hoppy has been alone since. Well I now have a blue silkie cockeral that is fast friends with Hoppy. They go every place with each other. No show winners there, but I gotta kkeep them, they are so cute. There has been no disease at my new place so I think the chickens were just too closely confinrd and stressed at my in town home.
I put all my crochet stuff in a huge box and in the next couple of months would love to get back into it. Where I live now is a lot cheaper too so I will be better able to afford stuff.
