It's going to be chores and letting overtired/under the weather kiddo rest today. She had too much going on this weekend, so I am keeping her home for a "wellness" day. But that also means I can sleep in, if I go back to bed.

Ugh, out of chicken feed today.

Guess it's a trip to the farm store...which is a million miles away. grrr... Question for ya, Blue Kote (probably the only thing I will be able to find at the farm store here) is it *really* bad/toxic to put on my rooster? I have got to get something to get them to stop plucking him!

Blue kote is not great to use but it's the only think I can get to stop that pecking. My top hat roo looks like a balding man. All that is left is some long grey hairs around the front and back. Since I put that on he's looking better.
New chicks that is funny. I can just picture it.

Okie you said you was wanting one too. Send me your measurements. I have some other practice ones you can have too if they fit. They are for small birds. All my birds will eventually be too big to fit in them so they are useless to me. I know how to make one if I need to later. I'm sure lady will go to town with us this summer and she's a huge cochin. She'll need a big diaper.

I had to send my silkies outside. Smelly little boogers. They need more room. I have a heat lamp on them in their own area.

That is just gorgeous. Your colors are much more natural. The blue works too, but yours are better.

Risu, when you go to get feed, Look for Rooster Booter's Pick-No-More Lotion
It looks like a bottle of Elmer's Wood Glue.
Says on the bottle, "controls cannibalism" .
Active ingredients: aloe vera gel, calendula(marigold), coal tar distillate, and tea tree oil
If you cant find it, let me know, I'll get you a bottle and send it to ya.

oh I so want to kick my own butt! I was going through my favorite folder, looking at a pattern for the swap...& I deleted my folder!

glad shes feeling a bit better i hate when they are all whiney when they are sick....especially DD #2 who is 15 she whines like shes 3 mom come rub my back hold my head..i need a drink no i dont want sprite i want 7up! LOL

Hey Sk, Cool. I will look. I haven't seen it there before. the place I go to for "quick" stops doesn't have a lot for poultry.

I do have calendula ointment I was putting on, really pasty stuff, and I could pick up some tea-tree oil. hmmm....

I better get moving. My hens outside are going to murder me if I don't get that food soon. My chicks have no idea what to do with rice.

I had to give them something to distract them for now. I am off.
