Just came across this free pattern from the Lion Brand Yarn site. Yes you do have to sign up but they don't flood your inbox with junk they just send you a monthly newsletter with free patterns etc. I love their newsletter. It's a dove ornament.

So cute but if I get time to make it I am going to add white feathers to the tail and maybe even a couple of tiny ones to the wing tips.

Is there a certain pattern in particular you wanted to make? You might be able to find a crochet version of it online. There are a ton a awesome FREE crochet patterns floating around on the web.
