The purple piece is a child size afghan I did for our 3-month-old using V-stitch with a shell border. It took 1.5 skeins of the Pound of Love yarn.

The V-stitch afghan looks like it's very beautiful!
I've been trying to practice the different stitches/stitch patterns lately but can't seem to get the number of starting ch's right or the turning.

I hope I'm not a contributor to frustration about not getting things right. I started a scarf this morning, a pattern I've used many times. I couldn't get it right & looked it up at its source, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Knitting and Crocheting. I realized that when I'd posted the instructions, I said you need an odd number of stitches. What I missed is you have to start with an even number in the chain. If anyone has tried it & gotten frustrated, it was because of my mistake. Try it again with an even chain, the book says 18, I say 20, but you can make it as wide or narrow as you want. It's actually an easy pattern and looks good.

So nevermind what I said, I'm just dumb and apparently skipped over the part where it told me how many ch's i needed for the pattern i was trying to do!! But, I got it figured out and Izzy got a new shirt/dress today
