I love seeing pics of everyone's projects.

That is so adorable! I think it looks like both but either way it is very well done. I love the owl one too. Did you design the pattern?
I did create them myself, I found pictures I liked on google and tried to recreate it in stitches as best I could. I took the owl apart about 7 times before I finally liked it but the monkey was pretty simple. I need to work on making different eyes though, the monkey looks a little spun out!

Ok, I've come across some confusing instructions for the row 1 of the border of my country apples afghan, which the pattern for can be seen here:
Country Apples Afghan

BORDER
Note: For first rnd of border, joining seam between motifs counts as dc.

Rnd 1: Working in back lps around outer edge, join lt green (mine will be blue) with sl st in first ch of any corner ch-3, ch 1, sc in same st,ch 2, sc in third ch of corner ch-3, *sc in next 2 sts, [ch 2, skip next st, sc in next 3 sts] across to 2 sts before next corner ch-3, sc in last 2 sts, sc in first ch of corner ch-3, ch 2, sc in third ch of corner ch-3; repeat from * 2 more times, sc in next 2 sts [ch 1, skip next st, sc in next 3 sts] across to last 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts. Join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Grr. I'm GOING to figure this out!

That's the kind of instruction which makes me feel utterly incapable. Good luck.

Here's a question: I want to make a hat and scarf for a friend. I have a lovely, very fine Merino wool. My friend says she's not allergic to wool but sometimes gets itcy. Does anyone have experience with this yarn? Does it tend to make people get itchy? Should I try it or go to a synthetic? Any and all opinions are appreciated.

Figured it out when I wrote it out by hand on another sheet of paper and spaced it out so I could keep track of my place in the instructions.

I used Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red, White, Berry Blue, and Pistachio.

We love to see pictures, Bleenie. That is sure cute no matter what it's supposed to be, but it doesn't look like a frog to me.

I like the afghan. It's lovely. I didn't know you lived in NC. My daughter lives in Jacksonville and I lived many years in Maysville. I wanted to move back to NC when I retired but hubby didn't want to leave CA so we had to stay.
