Crochet "Chat"

All done..... This seemed to take me forever. I am so glad its done.
What a work of art! Beautiful.
Cute owls, Lori! I bet that did take a ton of work.

I finished that second scarf, just a simple single crochet stitch with fringe, but it only took a day. Guess if I was better, it would take less time. I want to do something with a less dense stitch, but I saw the seed stitch ones and I like that and that's only slightly less dense.

My goal is to do this exact wrap, though in a different color:

Lovely color and good work! Looks nice and warm.

Does anyone have any good patterns that use/work well with Chunky weight yarn? I bought some Bernat Pipsqueak (soft, fuzzy kind) yarn and 'created' a hat pattern tonight but it really just looks boyish and I'd like to find one that's unisex or a girly one. I am making them for the childrens hospital but this yarn is so warm and big that lacy patterns work well with it and will still keep little bald heads warm.

Thank you. I do love the colors. My son was visiting from South Korea where he teaches English and he bought me a skein of Lion Brand Tweed Stripes bulky yarn in "Woodlands". It worked up so darn pretty when I did this Granny Check scarf (used the entire skein except for a 10" strand), though the edges are not that even in places. It's really soft but not as long as I'd like it to be, about 46", and I gave it to my DH. I'm making another of the same pattern with Pink Camo from Redheart, a regular yarn, not bulky. Working up to the one I really want to do, the One Skein Wrap from Caron.

Created this pattern last night for the chunky yarn I bought. I originally made it in the Pipsqueak but the stitches were too hard to see and it looked really boy-specific so I tried it in red. What do you guys think, good girl hat too?

Here's the Pipsqueak one, didn't photograph very well either and seemed to stretch out a lot in the process of making it so I might add a couple rows more to make it right for the bigger size.

I got the rooster pattern at the ravelry site I think. Its Free and you can't beat that price unless someone makes them for you for free
