I got a huge laugh the other day DH went down to the west pond to round the ducks back up, the horses were all lined up by the fence looking down that way watching him. All but the yearling Kendall she was watching from the pine trees. Well all of a sudden I see her trott off toward the pond and the next thing I know I see ducks coming through the trees. Kendall has her nose pointed to the ground and she is hearding the ducks to the fence. It was the greatest thing I had seen in a Long time. Too bad I hadn't had the video camera out. My horse the Duck herder.

Okie, hope you get to feeling better soon. Tell Hubby he's on kid watch, go in the bathroom, run a tub of hot water and put some bubble bath in it, lock the door and just light a couple of candles for atmosphere and soak. Oh and the rain is coming through tonight into tomorrow, then a cold front moves through and they are calling for snow this week-end here! I hope not! It rained half the day today, so I was lazy and just snuggled in bed with the fur kids for a change.

We are having a blizzard right now with at least 2 inches down so far as I can tell. And it is thundering.

WOW!!! Me and LC have had shirtsleeve weather today! Ya'll need to move to NC!!!

Hey, ya'll. I'm still here, just been lurking for a few days. It's that time of the year when my job gets very busy - we are getting ready for registration for next school year. I've worked 10+ hours every day this week, and it's only promising to get better over the next few weeks.
Tomorrow DH & I are chaperoning a bunch of teenagers for a 30-hour famine. Yeah, after tomorrow's lunch, no food for 30 hours. No biggie, we did this last year and it was fine. We have enough water & juice that no one really misses food. At least until the adults start cooking for the "breakfast" around 7:00 Saturday evening! This is to raise awareness about world hunger, and to help us realize what it's like to have nothing to eat. Personally, I'm looking forward to Saturday night - I can sleep in my bed instead of on the fellowship hall floor on an air mattress! I'm getting too old for that...
Sounds like everyone's been busy! It's Spring weather here, was in the upper 60's today. But rain is moving in tonight to last through Saturday. However, like some of you have said about your areas, in NC if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes and it will change!
Stephanie - I read Jim's thread. I guess I'm either dense or just plain dumb... are you still planning to go to Maine, or staying in TX? Either way, it sounds like you've got a pretty neat place to land when you leave your house!
Queen, hang in there with DD. Teenage girls do eventually grow up. Just look around here! Ummm, that might not be such a good idea after all. Some of us may NEVER grow up!

ha! I've had shorts on for 3 days now... well, minus the wind blowing up all my sand..
The A/C didnt turn off all day yesterday, until Jim turned it off at 9 pm last night, it was still 76 degrees .. lol

Tiki.. The Fleetwood Mac song about it only thundering when it's raining.. wrong.. So long as there is moisture in the air.. it can thunder.. lol Or so says Mr. Know-nothing.. er I meant Mr. Know it all... lol

Yeah, we're confused too.. We were originally supposed to stay until school's out.. June.. BUT.. the place where we are staying meantime.. the guy that owns it is getting into chickens.. So.. since he knows nothing on the subject, and we know a lot more then nothing.. well, he's trying to talk us into staying there and helping him get set up. Which will benefit us too...
And there is that option to stay.. we're still taking time to think, discuss and find out how well it will go... Please keep us in prayers.. these decisions are almost harder to make then the 'pack it up, we're heading out' ones.. lol
Alyssa is still accepted for next year at the magnet school, Caydence will be going to pre-k if we stay... So it is possible for us to stay and be alright, and it is possible that we leave and be alright elsewhere.. lol ACK DECISIONS!!!!

reminds me of a time when my kids were little. Our son was about 3 or 4 & our youngest daughter was 2 or 3. She farted, & he in such a serious voice says..."you not posta do that, you a little lady"! Oh man did I get side pains from that!
gig.gif

By the way skand, if you would pack more useable items & less "crap" in the boxes, you might get further!

Jen, I will send my yarn & pattern & you can do mine too!

We did the kiddie pool one year while we still lived in Olatha KS with a fountain the next year we dig out the pool and poured concrete and had used large flagstone and native rocks it was really cool. So we were thinking in that same line. But your Idea may give me a way to give the ducks part of it and the upper smaller part for birds and a few water plants.

Thanks

Oh how cool, both sound neat!

We started with weather around 40 degrees today, little thunder & rain. Then this afternoon got colder & snowed a little. Tomorrow into Saturday we are to get 2-4 inches of snow. Past 2 days was upper 50's!

A friend of mine grows the gourds and she uses the keyhole blade for the drill Yes that same thing your Grandpa used.

As I said Chuck had a good idea for you to soak in the tub, will the doctor let ya do that? I know some would rather you take showers instead. Let us know how your feeling.
